Lucknow, 17 November : The third day of International Science Olympiad 'Quanta-2023' organized by City Montessori School, Chowk Campus witnessed tough fight for medals in competitions like Collage, debate, Aqua Challenge water craft race and obstacle robot race. While on the one hand, the debate brought to light excellent oratory skills, and knowledge of science, on the other hand, the creativity, imagination and engineering skills of students found expression in aqua challenge and robot obstacle race.

            Today's fixtures began on a note of inspiration as the CMS Founder Dr. Jagdish Gandhi spoke on the necessity of spiritual education alongside education in science and technology. It must be ensured that technology is not misused. The Keynote speaker, Shri Milind Raj said in his address that through drone technology we can save people trapped in many major accidents, fires, hospital accidents etc In the morning session, the Aqua Challenge Race (Water Craft Race) competition was very attractive. With their self-made robots, the students delighted the onlookers, racing their robots in water. Similarly, the Obstacle Robot Race competition also mesmerized one and all. The self-designed battery-operated Robots were run by the students amidst obstacles on the way. The robots usually jumped when confronting an obstacle and then moved ahead to reach the destination.

            Debate contest, held today, conducted by Mrs Vera Hajela, Head, Spoken English was one of the most exciting events of the day. The topic of the debate was 'Carbon Pricing is an effective climate change solution not an Economic burden'. Keenly contested by all the Indian and foreign teams, it was full of excitement and all young and old enjoyed watching it.   Similarly, the talent of the students was also seen in The Artisans Guild (Collage Making) Competition. This competition was organized on the theme ‘Renewable Energy – The Green Road Towards 2025 and beyond’. Apart from this, the written round of Science and Computer Quiz was held today. The students selected in this competition will participate in the final round to be held tomorrow on 18th November.
