Lucknow, 28 October : CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium resounded with the magic of music and melody with over 300 musicians from 27 countries uniting as a Global Family of Musicians at the International Music Orchestra  hosted by CMS Rajajipuram Campus I here this evening. Earlier, the Chief Guest, Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, IAS, Chief Secretary, UP, inaugurated the programme while Ms Katherine Wieser, Ambassador, Republic of Austria in India graced the occasion by her benign presence. On the occasion, Chief Guest, Shri Durga Shanker Mishra while addressing the audience said that this was healthy initiative of CMS to spread, unity, peace and harmony in the world. Today, new developments in science and technology has brought the world closer to each other and now music is emerging as a great binding force for all the races and religions as it a Divine energy that joins our hearts together. I express my deep satisfaction and congratulate CMS for this grand musical extravaganza, he said.

            Over 300 young musicians from 27 countries of the world presented such a beautiful amalgamation of music and melody through the solo and group recitals that the spectators were overwhelmed with joy and loud clapping and cheering followed each recital. Carl Orff, the German composer’s creation titled Carmina Burana and his evergreen song ‘O Fortuna’ sent the crowd in a frenzy as they swayed to the music and tap tapped at the beat. This song which literally means ‘O Fate’ describes the inescapable power of fate, a central theme to Roman and Greek mythology, in which fate is a force that rules both gods and mortals. The concert was conducted by Music Maestro from Vienna University, Mr Vijay Upadhyay, in which a 100 different musical instruments like violins, violas, cellos, double basses, harp, flutes, horns, French horns, oboes, clarinets, trombones, trumpets, tubas, drums, timpani, etc.   On this occasion, CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that this feast of musical talent from different nations is a living example of unity in diversity and is based upon the CMS motto of ‘Jai Jagat’ and the philosophy of ‘welfare of all humanity’. CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that the ‘Carmina Burana’ is the true picture of a ‘mini world’ with songs that celebrate life, energy and vitality. Senior Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, Mrs Nisha Pandey expressed her heartfelt joy and gratitude towards the artistes and the guests at the musical evening.
