3rd day of International environment Olympiad IEO-2023
Lucknow, 13 December : Participating students of the four day International Environment Olympiad fuelled the flame for environmental protection through interesting competitions like choreography and quiz contests on the third day of the Olympiad sending a strong message across the borders to save the earth from total destruction through natural disasters caused by global warming, forest fires, floods, climate change, pollution and degrading air quality. It may be mentioned that City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus II has organized the International Environment Olympiad at CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium from 11 to 14 December in which countries like Nepal, Russia, UAE, USA, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and various states of India are actively participating and displaying their talents.
The chain of events at IEO 2023 continued with the Rhythm Divine (Choreography) contest this morning which remained the centre of attraction for the students. Each team fielded 6 to 10 participants who presented a colourful view of the natural environment through music and dance and not only highlighted the ethereal beauty of the earth but also the revengeful fury of nature when disturbed in her course of action. Based on the theme ‘Love for Nature’ the contestants gave full expression to the many moods of Mother Nature, the glory of sunrise and sunset, beauty of spring and the loving course of rivers irrigating the earth which left the audience mesmerized. Their presentations were greeted with loud clapping and cheering. The afternoon session was also very engaging with a lively quiz called Tree of Resilience. Eight teams qualified for the finals after a rigorous written round. These eight teams participated in the enlightening quiz answering the questions with great energy. Viewers were amazed to witness the excellent performance of the selected students. They not only exhibited their skills and knowledge but also displayed an intense desire to do something for the environment and better the prevalent conditions.
