Lucknow, 3 May. The third edition of the 3-day Model United Nations Conference being organised under the aegis of City Montessori School, Aliganj I Campus was inaugurated today. Chief Guest, Justice Siddharth Verma, Judge, Allahabad High Court, formally inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp. In his address delivered on this occasion, Justice Siddharth Verma said that education does not merely mean imparting textual knowledge. Events like the Model United Nations broaden students' perspectives by providing them with knowledge of current affairs, international relations and diplomacy. CMS Manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, said that students' participation in the Model United Nations assumes special importance this year in the wake of the upcoming UN Summit of the Future that promises reforms in the UN Charter. Besides, it will make the future generation aware of complex global issues and prepare them as future policymakers. Guest of Honour, Ms Niti Jain, National Media Penalist, BJP, also motivated the students.

                It may be noted that the 3-day Model United Nations (MUN) conference is being organized from 3 to 5 May in the huge premises of CMS Aliganj Campus I, in which around 600 students from various reputed schools of Nepal and across the country are participating. Model United Nations Conference is a simulation of the General Assembly of the United Nations, where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.Convener of the Model United Nations and Senior Principal, CMS Aliganj Campus I, Mrs Jyoti Kashyap said on this occasion that the presence of students from all over the country at the conference is proof that the present generation is aware of the problems of its time and is capable of presenting thoughtful solutions to them. Principal,  Aliganj Campus I, Mrs Shivani Singh said that this conference will inspire the future generation to create a world order based on unity, peace and harmony. Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS Shri Hari Om Sharma said that discussions among the student participants in MUN will continue tomorrow Saturday, 4th May.
