Lucknow, March 2 : The 2-day Teachers Training Workshop organized by City Montessori School concluded at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus Auditorium with firm resolve to bring about qualitative change in the method of education. The teaching-learning process was conducted in four different stages in the Workshop. This comprised the Teacher-Child Demo, Child-Child Demo, Entire Class Participation and Peer Work Process etc. Apart from this, the educational pedagogy being followed for teaching small children like Draw your favourite shape, Hands on Activity, Decoding Activity, Sentence making and Creative Writing, were issues discussed at the Training Workshop.

            It may be mentioned that the purpose of the Workshop was to train the teachers to use this ALFA (Accelerated Learning for all) method in the classrooms and make learning more productive and useful for students of Classes pre-primary and primary upto Class II level. ALFA was first introduced by City International School under the guidance of its Founder Dr Sunita Gandhi in the year 2022.  Its pilot project was introduced in CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II and CMS Aliganj Campus II and later on it spread to 11 other campuses of CMS in the same year.This year the remaining 11 campuses of CMS also introduced ALFA project from Montessori to Grade II kids for their quick learning by using the practical method of observation and learning by association of letters with objects and pictures.

            On the second day of the Workshop, the Founder of City International School,Dr Sunita Gandhi apprised the teachers about the aims and objectives of the ALFA Project. Dr Sunita Gandhi said that under this project, emphasis is laid on the natural processes of learning and the rapid learning outcomes. She said that teachers should be facilitators and animators for small children and teach in the way the child wants to learn. Growing up with curiosity, grasping knowledge from surroundings and asking questions are the natural ways of learning for small children. When children enjoy learning, they also become willing to fulfil responsibilities that come in their way and start inculcating moral values that lead to their character development and full growth of personality.
